the Legion Chat Hour on Thursday, June 15, 1995. The LSH Chat Hour is held

Tom Peyer, Tom McCraw, Jeff Moy and KC Carlson.

DISCLAIMER - If you believe this, I'd like to talk to you about this
sure-fire investment . . . .

SPOILERS - There be Spoilers, Cap'n!

The entire Legion team (the creative team not the guys and gals with working
flight rings) had descended on New York for the Legion Summit on Thursday
and Friday.

The Mon-El thing happened again. The name isn't coming back. (KC
threatened to rename him Valet.) Also, there's only one Superboy.

Jeff Moy will remain pencilling Legionnaires.

No plans for Shadow Lass yet. Impulse won't be joining the Legion.

Comics Con Roll Call: San Diego - Jeff, Cory, KC (maybe); Chicago - I
believe Jeff and Cory; Philly - Tom McCraw; Vancouver - Ron.

KC isn't sure if there's a Spectre in the 30th century to avenge Trom. Then
he admitted that he'd lied and a teenaged Spectre was joining in issue #75.

KC guaranteed that the Creeper wouldn't be appearing in the Legion.

Mark Waid left the Legion because he was too busy with other projects. He
might be back on special occaisions.

Mike McAvennie is receiving almost totally positive letters on the reboot.

Jeff seemed disappointed with the way that his cover art for the L* annual
reproduced indicating that it was "a little squashed." (If you haven't seen
the cover in your other DC mags, check it out. It's a very good looking cover.)

Lee Moder has done a few pages for Ghost #5.

Jeff has drawn himself and Cory into the background of the L* annual. Lee
hasn't drawn any of the creators in yet.

Since moving to the new DC offices, Mike and some of the other assistant
editors have managed to sneak in a Letterman taping. KC hadn't seen one
yet, but had seen Mel Gibson on a horse. Jeff and Cory met Sarajiul and
Rupert (sp?) during the summit.

Mary Marvel in the Legion? KC responded "good point" when it was mentioned
that she wouldn't be "too old" to join because she has access to the Rock of
Eternity.

They'd decided to turn Tom Peyer into a villain at the Summit. He's one of
those really smug villains that says "BAH!" a lot. He bahhed several times
for us during the chat.

Brainiac 5 acts like a jerk because he is a jerk.

KC wouldn't confess to killing the planet Trom. He blamed it on "the
Daxamites." He then noted, "Oh cripes! It's only a planet!" When a fan
pointed out that it reminded him of that planet in Star Trek:TNG where
Wesley is sentenced to the death penalty, KC inidicated that was a good
reason to blow it up.

They're looking for more for Mike Collins to do with the Legion.

Mike McAvennie after the Michael A. Chary torture job about the Showcase
stories: "The idea of the Academy is to keep member worlds happy, even if
they've got lame-o reps. It's a political thing." (ED - I'll have to get a
judges' ruling . . . I'm sorry, that's not the response we were looking for.
The correct answer is that it makes little sense at all.)

Cory on how Lu does espionage: One spies, the other two distract.

Jeff and Ron were using Mike Carlin's computer and became a bit delirious
with the power. They joined the Legion books and the Superman books to
"Legion of Supermen and Women". They fired everyone but themselves. They
couldn't be convinced to bring back "Hawk and Dove," though.

Rond Vidar is returning soon.

While there was some grumbling about the destruction of the world with heat
vision, the creators indicated that they were proud that they'd told one of
the biggest heat vision stories ever. When it was suggested that heat
vision had never been shown to be that powerful, it was suggested that
perhaps the Daxamites had been working out. Melting iron?

KC reminded us that we're not in pre-boot anymore. All the rules are/can be
changed.

When asked if the White Trianglers would be brought to justice, Mike
McAvennie noted that the WT is "awfully big for one courtroom."

No talk yet of a romance between Jan and Shvaughn.

Brainiac 5 will remember his red sun projector when the Daxamites attack in
the L* annual.

There is a Legion villain involved in the Superboy crossover. They wouldn't
say who.

There's a possibility that the Ferro Lad/Princess Projectra/Nemesis
Kid/Karate Kid joining story will be retold--but not soon.

Star Boy is still around, and we'll actually see him eventually. He will
not be a villain. (Only Peyer is a villain.)

We'll find out where Zoe's ship came out of hyperspace in LSH #76. They'd
spoken a lot about Zoe in the summit.

Chuck Taine appears in #76. They wouldn't say if he was joining as Bouncing
Boy. They did indicate that the Legion was far too busy to host try-outs
that issue.

There will be a lot of changes to the Legion and how it's structured. Lots
of characters coming in and going out. Eventually, they'll bring back the
characters that they feel they have great stories for.
