SUPERBOY'S LEGION A rocketship blasts away from an exploding planet just in time. Inside the ship, the last survivor of an entire civilization sleeps. His destination: 20th-century Earth. Only the Kryptonian ship veers off-course, enduring a thousand-year journey into the 30th century, where it ends up being discovered by billionaire industrialist R.J. Brande.

The story of the Last Son of Krypton takes a different, yet somehow familiar twist in SUPERBOY'S LEGION, a 2- issue Elseworlds miniseries in the Prestige Format from the JUSTICE LEAGUE OF AMERICA: THE NAIL creative team of writer/inker Mark Farmer and penciller Alan Davis (The Avengers). Brande's now adopted son, "Kal," grows up an impetuous teenager with powers and abilities far beyond those of mortal men. Alone and without purpose, Kal is regarded by many as a childish boy who dreams about the super-heroes who protected Earth a millennium ago. But certain events prompt young Kal to turn those dreams into reality, as he decides to find other unique teens like himself and form a Legion of Super-Heroes! Unfortunately, their first mission may turn into a nightmare for the young group of heroes, as unseen forces enter the equation and look to strengthen their grip on a universe they already control!

Fans of the Legion of Super-Heroes should also look out for LEGION LOST #12, the not-to-be-missed conclusion of the epic maxiseries that has turned the world of the Legion upside down! If the Legion can't find a way to close a doorway that will lead the Progeny forces to the Lost Legionnaires' universe, then both galaxies are surely lost. Yet the solution may very well result in the Legionnaires not being able to go home...unless someone makes the ultimate sacrifice! Look for the upcoming LEGION QUEST 6-issue miniseries to answer where the remaining Legionnaires have been all this time.

The Legion found? LEGION WORLDS

In last year's fast-paced, shocking and twist-filled maxiseries, LEGION LOST, we followed eleven missing Legionnaires as they desperately struggled to find their way home. But what of the remaining Legionnaires who were not lost? What has happened in the year that has passed, and how will these other heroes react when they learn their missing teammates may not be dead after all?

The answers are found in LEGION WORLDS, a 6-issue miniseries written by the LEGION LOST writing team of Dan Abnett & Andy Lanning, and showcasing covers by the fan-favorite artist of PLANETARY, John Cassaday. Each issue of LEGION WORLDS is 48 pages (with ads) and leads with a 30-page story focusing on different Legion planets and team members, drawn by different artistic teams that include: Yvel Guichet (BATMAN: HARLEY QUINN) & Dexter Vines, Enrique Breccia (Heavy Metal), Paul Rivoche (BATMAN: BLACK & WHITE), Duncan Rouleau (ACTION COMICS), Kilian Plunkett (UNKNOWN SOLDIER), and Steve Dillon (PREACHER, Punisher) & Andy Lanning (WONDER WOMAN). Each issue also contains eight pages of backup material — either a short story or Legion Profile Pages — making LEGION WORLDS a perfect jump-on point for new readers looking for a crash course on the 30th century's greatest heroes. LEGION WORLDS also sets the stage for an ongoing Legion title set to debut later this year!

With LEGION WORLDS #1 — "Earth," illustrated by Guichet & Vines — we learn that the Legion has disbanded, and Leland McCauley is now the President of Earth and in control of a depleted United Planets. The Stargates, the interstellar mode of transportation, are now gone — and former Legionnaire M'Onel contemplates how it's affecting the rest of the galaxy. M'Onel encounters other Legionnaires, such as Kinetix and Triad, during the one-year anniversary of their comrades' disappearance — but as he battles an amped-up Tharok of the Fatal Five, several warning signs signal that a war between Earth and an invading robot-like race may be inevitable.

Future issues of LEGION WORLDS will focus on five other planets — Winath, Braal, Xanthu, Rimbor, plus a new planet called Steeple — and star a number of other Legionnaires such as Spark, Cosmic Boy, XS, Star Boy, Apparition, Karate Kid, Ferro, and many more favorites!

This project is supported with house and trade ads.

Volume 11 features stories written by Cary Bates and E. Nelson Bridwell, plus comics work by a teenaged writer from Pittsburgh named Jim Shooter. Also, stepping into the very large artistic shoes of his predecessor Dave Cockrum, newcomer artist Mike Grell unveiled what would become his trademark brand of powerful graphic storytelling, giving the series a whole new excitement and vibrancy. Cockrum and Grell are joined by legendary artists Curt Swan, George Klein and Nick Cardy who also provide art in this volume.

A new era for the 31st Century… THE LEGION

Half their number was lost. The other half was without hope. The Legion of Super-Heroes officially disbanded following the "death" of eleven members. But now these missing heroes have triumphantly returned. How will the 31st century's greatest heroes react to a world they no longer recognize?

THE LEGION is a new ongoing series written by Dan Abnett & Andy Lanning and illustrated by Olivier Coipel & Lanning — the same creative team behind the critically acclaimed LEGION LOST maxiseries — that picks up where LOST and the LEGION WORLDS miniseries left off. The missing Legionnaires have returned to find everything they've ever known changed in their absence. Despite appearances, the galaxy has fallen on hard times under new president Leland McCauley. In addition to financial crises, the Milky Way is threatened by increasingly frequent planetary invasions from Robotica — a world of artificial sentients bent on reshaping everything they encounter. With the planets no longer united, the Legionnaires may be the only hope for unity…something McCauley and his super-powered bodyguards, the Oversight Watch, don't want to see happen!

A new era dawns as the Legion slowly rebuilds itself with a new structure, new members and a new purpose. But with these changes come new inner conflicts and unexpected surprises — while in the background, a surprising villain lurks and schemes, ready to destroy the Legion before it even has a chance to come back together fully.
