Synopsis

The active membership of the Legion meets with all available active members, at such a small number that Dream Girl notes that Cosmic Boy may be one of the few present that can remember a time when the Legion was this small. Dream Girl chairs the meeting as deputy leader, as Element Lad, Phantom Girl, Ultra Boy, Chameleon Boy and Shrinking Violet are still missing. It is decided that Brainiac 5 will boost Dawnstar's tracking power and reservists will be called in. Cosmic Boy wants new members added but Star Boy argues that none of their applicants could survive as Legionnaires, according to their membership tests. Dream Girl tables the issue for later.

On Talok VIII, Shadow Kid is sneaking into a rebel camp to discover that the leader of the rebels is a young woman practicing a form of ancestor worship though long gone. He's captured by the Persuader, though, and presented to the woman as a captive.

Gigi Cusinamo is trying to cheer up Shvaughn Erin, who is pining for the missing Element Lad. Gigi goes out alone and visits Colossal Boy at the apartment he shares with his wife Yera, who is off planet, which seems to suit Gigi's plans.

Mon-El is searching with the computers in his quarters when Shadow Lass comes in worried about her cousin, who's no returning her messages. Mon-El and Shadow Lass go to Talok VIII on their own, as Dream Girl won't spare any more Legionnaires as there aren't any signs of a problem.

Wervos Bommer, the mayor of the city on Talok VIII is lamenting his situation with the rebels outside the city walls when an attack lands inside the city walls. Persuader celebrates the attack, and the captive Shadow Lad, whose family has a history with Lady Memory's people. The attack is thwarted by Shadow Lass shrouding the city in darkness and Mon-El digging a ditch between the rebels and the city walls. As Shadow Lass confronts the Persuader, he fends off a barrage of rebel blaster fire and a construction machine attack. Shadow Lass defeats the Persuader and goes to rescue her cousin.

Back at Legion HQ, Brainiac 5's attempts to boost Dawnstar's powers seems fruitless, but painful. Mon-El interjects, Lady Memory reveals her power, attacking Mon-El by flooding him with his memories.
