Misinterpreatations of the creators' comments do occaisionally occur.

SPOILERS - Information that tends to spoil current or upcoming issues is
located towards the end of this report. No intervening spoiler space is used.

OBSERVATION - A solo chat with two dozen frenetic Legion fans has to be a
nightmare for the creators. Tom has done numerous chats solo, and always
does a remarkable job of answering every question that he sees posed to him.
Kudos to Mr. McCraw!

===================================

Tom is attending the Chicago Convention this year.

Tom did not have any knowledge of a rumored upcoming LSH appearance in the
Green Lantern title. He thinks a GL crossover would be cool, but passes on
Rond.

The Legion creators do have a summit similar to the Superman summit, but
it's not as fancy.

The creators are working on some mini-series right now. Not all the minis
are solo stories.

There are no plans for Mantis Morlo yet.

There are no plans for Tyroc yet. Tom can see Tyroc as a Banshee type of
character. He rejected a suggestion that Apparition be resurrected
everytime Tyroc screams.

Ferro hasn't appeared yet. Tom thinks it might be interesting to have the
Nolan brothers compete to become a Legionnaire.

Tom believes it's too early to retell the Legion's origin story.

Tom doesn't know if Triad's father is still alive.

Not every fan supports Superboy joining the Legion.

Tom and Roger Stern had been working out more of Kinetix's story. She's
only been put on the backburner recently because of the Fatal Five story.

Chameleon's story as religious leader will develop slowly.

Tom doesn't think that Brainiac 5 would make a good leader because of his
lack of social skills. Tom thinks that Brainiac 5 has the power of a nasty
attitude at times.

Tom indicates that editor KC Carlson hasn't prevented the creators from
using many characters.

Tom doesn't know if Invisible Kid can see Apparition. (ED-A reference to
the preboot S/LSH #203 where Lyle had a deceased girlfriend in another
dimension.)

The creators are trying to diversify the Legion. Tom points out that most
of the new characters are different.

The creators want to do something similar to "Girls' Night Out" (L* #23)
again. Tom suggested a boy's night playing cards, lazer tag or something.
He liked suggestions for a date night or that the Legionnaires face off in a
scavenger hunt.

There will be a holo scene soon.

Apparition's father has been too busy gambling to react to Winema's
scheming. Tom points out that "the creep" didn't even show up for Tinya's
funeral.

KC Carlson is working on the Reader Leader Election stuff now. He'll be
announcing it soon. Tom asked whether Saturn Girl should be the next leader.

The Invisible Kid story has to go through some more subplotting before his
origin can be told.

Tom claims that KC would kill him if he even typed the words LSH #84.

Tom enjoys devising new ways for the Legionnaires to use their powers.
Invisible Kid will be expanding his repertoire soon. He refused to discuss
a new use for Triad's powers. He teased that something might be done with
Spark's powers.

Roger swore Tom to secrecy about the identity of the Shadowy figure in L* #35.

Star Boy's casts will be coming off soon, although not in the normal manner.
He points out that Thom's casts have been off in Lee Moder's LSH roll calls.

We'll learn more about Gates in L* #37. Tom is reading Gates as a male, but
the gender is not decided yet.

Tom asked that fans give Cosmic Boy a break because he's doing the best that
he can. He suggested that Cos could push Madame Chu off a large building.
Chu will not be in charge of the Legion after LSH #80.

A villain that we've already seen in the postboot is returning in L* #39.

Tom wouldn't reveal the membership of the Legion Rescue Squad in L* #36.
The Rescue Squad doesn't really appear in LSH #79. There are about seven
members, and we've met most of the characters before. Tom promises that it
will be worth the wait, "especially when you find out who they are." They
are not the Legion of Substitute Heroes. One is a Legionnaire who won't be
in LSH #79, but Tom offered "are you sure?" when XS was suggested.
