Tom Peyer and KC Carlson were the guests on America Online's LSH Chat for
Tuesday, May 23, 1995. LSH Chat takes place every Tuesday evening at 6:00
p.m. EDT in the DC Online Chat area of America Online. Previous guests have
included Mark Waid, Tom Peyer, Tom McCraw, Jeff Moy, and KC Carlson.

DISCLAIMER - Think of this as the LSH's version of the "Weekly World News."

SPOILERS - Non-spoiler material is presented first, with Spoiler material
following. There will be no spoiler space.

W.C. (Cory) Carani will be inking the L* annual.

Jeff Moy will be at Chicago Con. Look for him in Artists' Alley.

R.E.B.E.L.S. has not been cancelled.

Tom Peyer's favorite Legion stories include "The Great Darkness Saga,"
"Computo the Conqueror," and "End of an Era."

Brainiac 5 does not enjoy being a member of the Legion. (Nor does he enjoy
much else.)

Tom isn't interested in using Deadman in any upcoming Legion stories.

Kid Quantum was introduced to demonstrate that Legion life is dangerous, and
to set up the "no artificial powers" rule.

When asked about the new worlds added in Showcase '95 #6, Tom indicated that
the UP was adding new worlds all the time and that it happens off stage
because it's a pretty boring process.

Tom noted that new members won't have to go to the Legion Academy. He also
noted (with a smile) that the point of the Academy is to train new me
mbers. KC noted that Academy members are not Legionnaires, and that the
Legion Academy should be thought of as the Joe Kubert Art School--they're
there to learn to break into comics.

The Time Trapper is a LSH villain. KC would like him/her to be a general
DC villain, but suspects that people are scared to use him/her. KC likes
the Trapper to remain mysterious. The Trapper will make his/her next
appearance when they have a really good story--not before. (ASIDE - I
personally think that the LSH should be selfish with the Time Trapper.)

When asked if we'd ever see what happened between Zero Hour #0 and LSH #0, KC
commented that would seem like back-tracking. He further noted that he
thought that things were pretty wrapped up before ZH #0 and that they started
fresh with LSH #0.

They have no plans for the Persuader yet, and no concrete plans for the
Emerald Empress.

All Tom was willing to say about the Durlan religion is that he's not a
believer. He did acknowledge that he is the one who's interested in that
thread.

Carggites think Triad is insane.

Work Force is not changing its name to "Legion of Super-Villains" any time
soon. (ED - At a previous chat, KC expressed distaste at the LSV name.)

Jo Nah will be making more appearances in coming books.

Dr. Regulus is coming soon.

"It must be true" (with a smiley) that Star Boy and Alchemist are coming soon.

We will be seeing Chuck Taine soon, and he won't be training at the Academy.
(He won't be Bouncing Boy initially.)

The current Superboy will be appearing in the issues dated November (on
sale in September). They're working on making the Superboy story a big one.
It will be followed by an Underworld tie-in. They're hoping that the two
events will give the Legion more exposure.

The LSH's participation in Underworld will involve time travel. Underworld
is the upcoming Waid-scripted crossover that involves DC's villains. (ED -
And Chronos, the old Atom villain, if previous reports are still accurate.)

Valor had completed all of his galactic deeds prior to Superboy #17. Some
people know him, and others don't.

And finally, the "Truth or Rumor" game was played, but they changed the rules
and made it less useful for the participants. They classified anything that
they didn't want to reveal as "rumor". (The last time it was played, they
would say "can't say.")

***Truths:

Invisible Kid will be drinking Gingold to increase his power base. (ED -
Noted as true, but likely a joke.)

Ambassador Wazzo will try to disband the team.

Alternative lifestyles will be embraced by the Legion, but in this conformist
age, that may just mean that they watch "Fox."

Superboy will become an honorary member of the LSH.

Chuck Taine will appear before Christmas.

***So-called rumors that were dispelled (take with a grain of salt because of
the rule change):

Kenetix will not be getting her powers back next issue.

Zoe will not be getting powers within the next 6 months.

Saturn Girl won't be showing off her new shape-changing powers soon.

Dev-Em will not be a survivor of Rokyn.

Triad will not be changing her name in the near future.

Mark Waid is not doing a special Legion project.

Impulse will not be returning to the 30th century soon.

Bouncing Boy will not be seeing print before the end of the year.

***One "who can say?": Who can say if Dirk is returning?

***One "who knows": Who knows if Reep is the new head of the Durlan religion?
