Pre-Crisis
The "preboot", or "original", Legion were introduced in Adventure Comics #247. This Legion was founded on the premise of Superman having a career as Superboy.
Members
Early prominent members included the three founders - Cosmic Boy, Saturn Girl and Lightning Lad - Phantom Girl, Triplicate Girl, and Chameleon Boy.

Storylines
Major storylines included Earthwar; the Great Darkness saga; and the Crisis on Infinite Earths, which brought about the end of this version.
