Reboot. thanks for the edits and corrections. Although I write for a living, I admit I type directly into the wiki edit box without bothering to cut and paste over to word for a spellcheck most of time time, and my fingers (not to mention my brain) are ususally pretty tired when I get to "play time." I'll try in the future and be a tad more careful and not just puke stuff out and also to preview before I post. Thanks also for taking the time to wikilink a lot of stuff, another thing I have been lazy about.

I really like the color-coded table you made for the reboot reference kit. I'll use that template for future use. Thanks also for the other era fixes. I feared I was probably misremembering.

Just a note. It looks like I was playing with the page at about the same time you were. I looked and I don't think I undid any of your changes, but I apologize if I did inadvertantly by posting a page that I started editing before your edits.Duke 15:44, 11 September 2006 (PDT)

The Trouble With Girls (and with Mort)

I found this while catching up on some of my reading: The Trouble With Girls #12. Look familiar? It's got a Mile High Comics cover, I'm not sure what the policy is about uploading these covers. I created a new section on this page to hold the cover homages, parodies, and inspirations. There were some earlier covers to use a similar (but not identical) format, such as these Superman Annuals from 1960-1961 but I'm not sure if they need to be uploaded or just linked to the GCD since they're not Legion issues.

Additionally, on another topic, the commentary here is particularly anti-Weisinger and pro-Siegel. I think we can probably cut down on the speculation and bias in the commentary, or at least confine it to Weisinger's entry under "rumors about working conditions" or something.

Its rather unlikely that Mile High would ever know we used their image, and I'm not sure whether or not it could be considered their "property", but using someone else's image even once might set the example for other contributors to start practicing it wholesale. Between their text and the bitmap format, I'd prefer we produce a higher quality image anyway. In anticipation of creating an homage gallery like the one you just did (the reason why LSHv2 #301 is the only issue from that period that I have uploaded), I've been searching eBay for that Trouble With Girls issue for the last month or so with no results. Lots of issues for sale, but not v1 #12. I'll find it eventually and scan a copy. My one request would be that once a copy does show up on eBay that we not all bid on it at once. If other people are interested in getting a copy, I'm happy to monitor eBay and post a notification here once copies are available. Of course, if someone else already has a copy that they can scan, feel free to do so.
I've been wondering about the whole concept of a "critique" section. I agree that the personal opinion aspects do not really fit within an encyclopedic type entry, although there is some good information about anachronisms and such. I'd prefer to see the section revised as you suggest with a different section heading. I do, however, feel that opinions have their place in the wiki, just on pages specifically noted as such. I think it would be interesting to have an area devoted to expressing things like one's favorite characters/issues/artists, and also to discuss topics like those currently addressed in the Adv 300 page.

I've been searching eBay all month to no avail, but did find a copy of Trouble with Girls Vol. 1 #12 at nostalgiazone.com. Just received it in the mail today, so I'll be scanning and uploading an image sometime soon. Unfortuantely, Nostalgia Zone only had one copy, so for those of you who want to get it, I have no advice as to where to go. I will continue to search for it periodically on eBay as I look for other items, and post any results I find here.. -- Gopher 11:19, 25 October 2006 (PDT)
