History

Background

Superman's birthing matrix was launched from Krypton before his birth, his father Jor-El having forseen the imminent destruction of the planet and taken treatments to ensure his son was not bound to the planet like the rest of his race.

It landed in Kansas, USA, and was found by a farming couple, Jonathan and Martha Kent, who adopted him for their own. After manifesting superpowers as he grew to adolesence, his adoptive parents revealed how they had found him, and he decided to leave his hometown of Smallville. After travelling the world for some years, he settled in Metropolis and was dubbed "Superman", after which he adopted glasses as himself and a costumed identity for "Superman".

Years later, he would learn exactly where he came from.

These events was revised in the Glorithverse timeline so that Superboy was only briefly a Legion member.
These events were only indirectly referenced in the post-Zero Hour timeline - later events in the Pocket Universe, with the destruction of the pocket Earth, execution of three Kryptonian criminals and the introduction of Supergirl (Matrix), continuing to play a key role, and since those events depended on the death of Superboy, it is likely that they did indeed occur, probably in their pre-Glorithverse form, with the caveats mentioned below under "TIme and Time Again".

Time and Time Again

After an encounter with "the Linear Man", Superman was sent bouncing around the timestream

NB: Post-Zero Hour, these events were slightly revised Lgs #61 so that Superman, instead of going to the normal 30th century, instead went to a series of Pocket Universes created by the Time Trapper.

Zero Hour

Team 20

When the Emerald Eye threw half the [[Legion of Super-Heroes/Post-Zero Hour|Legion of the new, uncorrupted timeline[[ back to the 20th century, Superman recognised them from his earlier encounters with other versions of the Legion, but was surprised when he realised it was not the same Legion he had met before. Nonetheless, he vouched for the team.
