Listed in the order they joined. In those cases in which the member's name changed over time, the primary name used has been listed. Some linked pages will need to be distinguished from their post-Crisis counterparts. Currently included are several groups of the Legion's heroic contemporaries, which will be moved to their own pages in due time.

  • Cosmic Boy
    • Original team leader; first appeared in Adventure Comics #247 (April 1958); revealed to be a founding member in Superboy #147 (May/June 1968).
  • Saturn Girl
    • Elected for a second term in Adventure Comics #323 (August 1964).
  • Invisible Kid (Lyle Norg)
    • Superboy was his deputy
  • Brainiac 5
  • Mon-El
  • Karate Kid
  • Ultra Boy
    • Served twice; ran for a third term against Element Lad and Dream Girl, served as Dream Girl's deputy.
  • Wildfire
    • Elected at some point before Superboy #226 (April 1977).
  • Lightning Lad
    • Elected at some point before Superboy #253 (July 1979).
  • Element Lad
    • Served as deputy for Lightning Lad; ran for leader against Dream Girl, refused to be her deputy, won as write-in in the following election (Legion of Superheroes #310, April 1984).
    • Later a deputy for Brainiac 5 and Polar Boy (Legion of Super Heroes #36 (July 1987)).
  • Dream Girl
    • First elected during the Great Darkness Saga
  • Princess Projectra
    • Elected leader as Sensor Girl
  • Polar Boy
    • Elected in Legion of Super Heroes #36 (July 1987); Sensor Girl renounced the role of deputy leader in favor of Element Lad.
  • Superboy (Kal-El)

    • Leader of the Espionage Squad
