Origin

Garth, Ayla and Mekt Ranzz crashlanded on the planet Korbal. Ayla suggested that they would trick the local lightning beasts to charge their ship, but they were charged themselves with electrical powers.

Encounter with Terror Firma

Not much is known about the Legion's early history, except that Saturn Girl, Lightning Lad, and Cosmic Boy were the founders.
Some time after the Zero-Some encounter (an undocumented case) he and Satrun Girl took a break to Rimworld. There, they were among the first to encounter the Terror Firma (together with Brin Londo).

Powers and abilities

Lightning Lad is able to generate electricity which an be channeled through energy blasts.
